Christina MacBean is the 4th generation in her family to be born and raised in Barrie, ON, Canada. She recently moved north to Muskoka, with her husband and 2 children. She holds an undergraduate degree in Law and Justice, however in 2014, after more than a decade pursuing and working in the public safety industry, she decided to pursue her love of art and all things creative. She is an honours graduate from the Fine Arts program at Georgian College in Barrie and has found her niche in oil painting and printmaking. In the short time Christina has devoted her time to her artistic endeavours, she has exhibited in several shows Internationally including Egypt, Norway, and Ireland. She has also participated in exhibits in Eastern Canada and throughout Southern Ontario. She is the recipient of the 2015 Georgian College Peer Printmaking Award and has been featured in Barrie’s local newspaper as well as the Chronicle Herald in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She was a founding member of PRNT Collective, Barrie's first private printmaking studio and now owns two printing presses that she keeps in her private studio in Utterson. Her artwork is in many private residences throughout Simcoe County. She also has work in two public collections which include the University of El Minia, Egypt and Georgian College, Barrie. |
